Below is a short interview with JoAnna with MTV’s “The Seven”…

On “Better with You,” Joanna Garcia plays Mia, a young woman who gets engaged after knowing her guy for just a few weeks, while Jennifer Finnigan plays her sister Maddie, who has been in a relationship for seven years and is still not married. In real life, Joanna is engaged to Yankee slugger Nick Swisher and Jennifer Finnigan is married to Jonathan Silverman — and both women tell ET they can relate to their character’s choices.

“Nick and I became engaged after 10 months, but I think we knew it instantly. …When you know, you know,” Joanna says. “I don’t know if I would have felt so confident about Mia’s choice had it not been for the fact that I had experienced it in my real life. I met my partner and I met my man and that was it. It was full steam ahead.”

Jennifer may be married now, but it took her three years after getting engaged to walk down the aisle, so she says she is a mix of both Mia and Maddie.

“We were engaged after six months, which is very Mia, but we were engaged for three years, which is more my character, more of a Maddie thing, where once we did it and we did it so fast, then it was a matter of just wanting to make sure this was right,” Jennifer tells ET. “We moved in together and we really discovered each other through that. We got to know each other better after we were engaged.”

Of course, Mia has a little more at stake than Joanna in hurrying into marriage. She is pregnant and, since this is a comedy, the baby will be born and add to the humor.

“My boobs are going to get bigger and bigger,” Joanna jokes. “It is fun [to play a pregnant character]. I did it on ‘Reba.’ It is really weird. [When] I started on ‘Reba,’ our first episode I was 17 on the show, and I was pregnant and getting married. All of a sudden I read the script and I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding me.’ This time around, I think it will be a little more glamorous pregnancy.”

That said, Joanna has an ulterior motive for looking forward to Mia’s pregnancy and this is the extra calories she will be able to consume. She says, “I am really looking forward to the chicken cutlets and ice cream sundaes on tape nights because, let’s be honest, I am going to be padded up.”

“Better with You” airs Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
